A Life Shaped by Global Exploration
I grew up in Seattle in a family that traveled often for work—and loved bringing the kids along. Some of my earliest memories are from a playground in Germany, and in third grade I spent six weeks in China during an extended family trip. Since then, I’ve lived abroad in four countries—Germany, Spain, Taiwan, and most recently China, where I spent 13 years.
A Childhood Spent Around the World
I know firsthand how transformative travel can be, and it’s a true privilege to help our clients discover experiences that feel perfectly suited to them.
Travel Has Always Been Personal To Me
Starting a family overseas brought an entirely new skill set: mastering the art of international travel with children. China became the ideal home base for exploring farther-flung destinations with my own kids, including Mongolia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, Korea, and the Philippines.
Raising a Family Abroad Deepened My Expertise
I’ve worked in the travel world in various capacities since graduating from college, including many years with TCS Expeditions, a tour operator specializing in private jet travel. The combination of my professional experience and my personal, global upbringing naturally evolved into Rachel Dicker Travel, which I founded after relocating to Austin, Texas, in 2013.
